These are the people in your neighborhood

Hello, Blackhat fam! We decided that you might want to know a little about the awesome men and women that make this company work. An EXTREMELY clever member of the Blackhat team came up with some questions to dive into each employee's mind and tell you a bit about them. We started with Glen, the man who started it all.

    The Boss Man of Vaping

    Nuts and Bolts

    1. How did you start vaping?

My friend was at Square One and he had a friend that had moved to New York. She came back and brought him the first pen style e-cigarette. I was like, “What the hell is that?” He said, “It’s an e-cigarette.” Wait, at that time it was “electronic cigarette”. Everything was spelled out. So I tried it and it was, just, really nice. I dunno, it was like a whole new experience and the more and more I looked into it, the more I found there’s not a lot of harmful stuff in it. I think the first one I bought was from, Ebay and it was just a little, you know, small e-cigarette with a cartridge where it had a little coil sticking out of it and you snap the cartridge on, and that was fun for a little while.

    2. Why did you start Blackhat Vapor?

I felt like it truly was going to help people, and everyone wants a job that’s rewarding where you can help people and make a living. And honestly, I knew I was going to use them and I didn’t want to have to pay for it, haha.

    3. What type of flavors do you usually vape?

That’s a tough one. It’s usually all over the place. Right now I’m vaping a peach tea, sometimes I’ll have a tobacco flavor. I like strawberry and cream, like you (do). When I’m using a bigger (device) I’ll vape some of the desserty flavors.

    4. What’s your favorite juice right now?

Whatever’s in my tank *laughs* It would have to be Carolina Gold overall because, you know, I really like the simple tobaccos.

5A. Where do you see the vaping industry in 1 year’s time?

I think that the FDA is going to slow down. There’s no proof or anything like that, but I think, given that there’s so many lawsuits pending, and I feel like people are just more aware of what the FDA is trying to do now, that there’s going to be quite a bit of resistance when it comes to actually shutting down shops. I know they’ve already done it in some states, but I there’s a lot of places that, when they try to do it on a major scale, that people are going to start fighting back.

    5B. 5 years?

Well, hopefully if everything goes ok, I think it will just stay steady. I don’t see that’s it going to have much more explosive growth like it did because people are kind of settling down into, you know, the devices that are available. There’s not been many major technology breakthroughs lately. Things are just going to start getting cheaper and smarter: better juice, cleaner coils and stuff like that. And I think that people are going to slowly go back to vaporizers that work for, you know, addiction. Not making a whole bunch of vapor and cloud chasing and all that… people are going to look for something simple that works. I think in 5 years, things will just be more steady. Obviously there’s going to be a lot more users…but it’ll be kind of like the way things are right now, just a little bit bigger.

    6. What’s the strangest juice flavor you’ve tried?

I guess it was probably pizza. What was strange is that, the first time I tried it, I didn’t mind it that much.

    Fun Stuff

    1. Zombies, robots, vampires, or werewolves?

    Like…for what?
    *That’s the question*
    Umm, robots! That was easy.

    2. If the zombie apocalypse were to happen tomorrow, where would you hole up?

An island somewhere. I would find an island and defend it.

    3. You just won the lottery; what’s the first thing you do with the money

Umm, pay off all of my family’s debt.

    4. Would you rather always have to sleep in jeans and shoes or sleep with a motorcycle helmet on?

Could I make modifications to this helmet?
*No, it’s a helmet that comes off the shelf*
Ok, jeans and shoes then. That’s really easy. There’s no way anybody picked the helmet!

    5. Would you rather have the ability to fly 3 times in your life, or the permanent ability to walk on water?

Permanently walk on water! That’s another easy question. We need to work on these questions.
*heated debate over the merits of flying vs. flying ensues*

    6. What’s your dream vacation?

My dream vacation? Umm, probably *Kristin yells from the back room “China!* Yeah, China. I want to go to those mountains that don’t look like mountains, you know?

    7. Tell us an embarrassing story.

I was building a new wall in the lab and I nailed my finger between a piece of the frame and the existing wall.

    8. If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Umm, salt and vinegar potato chips. Or pickle potato chips.
*we move onto the next question*
    I can’t believe I didn’t say noodles!

    10. If you had free, unlimited 5 years of service from one of these professionals, which would you choose:
    • Chef
    • Masseuse
    • Chauffer
    • Housekeeper
    • Personal Assistant

Hmm. Well the personal assistant could do so many things! (He/she) could cook for me, but it wouldn’t be as good as the chef. (He/she) could give me massages, but it wouldn’t be as good as the masseuse. (He/she) could do aaaaaaaaall of those things!

  • The state of the Vape Union - sub ohm

The state of the vape union - sub ohm

Blackhat would like to address the state of the Vape Union, and the union is strong. More than 9 million adults vape in the U.S. alone! So where does that leave us today with the development of vaping technology, newcomers to the technology, and the people already using electronic cigarettes?

    Two words: sub ohm.

Quad coil sub ohm build A vaper used to have to build their own coils to achieve sub ohm resistance.
If you're not familiar with this term, let's break it down. Ohm is a measure of electrical resistance, or how much a material prevents electricity from moving through it. Before November 2014, all standard tanks or clearomizers enjoyed by the vast majority of vapers used coil heads rating above 1.0 ohm. Only the very advanced vapers dared venture into the territory of building their own coils on rebuildable dripping atomizers or tanks (RDAs/RTAs), achieving resistances lower than 1.0 ohm (sub ohm), producing huge clouds of vapor and enhanced flavor production.

That all changed in the early weeks of 2015. Aspire broke the mold and produced the first sub ohm tank, the Atlantis, which featured never before seen pre built 0.5 ohm coil heads. Now anyone could achieve the clouds and flavor of the builders, but didn't have to wade through the steps and knowledge needed to build their own coils. This single tank was, in a word, revolutionary.

Aspire Atlantis Sub Ohm tank. The Atlantis from Aspire was the first successful non-rebuildable sub ohm tank.
A standing previously reserved for the modders and hobbyists, the elite vapers now saw their cloud status being encroached upon. It was only a matter of time before manufacturer after manufacturer followed suit, cranking out even better performing sub ohm tanks of their own. Ever increasing air flow, hardier coil heads with inventive configurations and wicking design, and increased liquid capacity have relegated builders to almost a marginalized status in the overall vaping community.

A standard set of steps used to apply to a beginning vaper:

    1. Buy an eGo or 510 style starter kit and use it for a period of time.
    2. Buy a variable voltage/wattage mod, and possibly use the same ego tank as before.
    3. Stay at that level, or experiment with mechanical mods and rebuildables.
    4. Either upgrade results in more vapor and flavor.

The new trend completely inverts the previous model. More and more people that come into the shop to buy their first vaping setup experience a different set of steps:

    1. Try or see a friend's sub ohm set up.
    2. Buy a sub ohm tank/mod
    3. Enjoy bigger clouds and enhanced flavor.

The game has truly changed. Features like stabilized wood, temperature control, and customizable displays have tweaked things, but the sub ohm tank changed it all. What will be the next vape revolution - ceramic coils, a new glass compound? Your guess is as good as ours, but we can't wait to find out.

  • Beginners Guide To Vaping

So you’ve decided to start vaping, now what?

A couple beginners super stoked to get a starter kit! A couple beginners super stoked to get a Blackhat starter kit!

Welcome to a global community of vapers millions strong  and thousands of brick and mortar vapor shops ready to provide you with exactly what you need.  Now is a super exciting time to get in on vaping.  E-cig manufacturers have had years of trial and error, refinement, and research.  The E-cigs on the market now are so much better than the units that were around when I first started a few years ago.  They’re more powerful, more colorful, and easier than ever to use.  Congratulations!  Your timing couldn’t be better.  As a beginner, I’ll walk you through the basics so you can hit the ground running.

Let’s start with vaping for beginners, what exactly is an electronic cigarette?  I’m glad you asked!  All types of e-cigs have three basic parts:

    A typical beginner setup.

    A battery

A heating element (coil or atomizer)

A liquid reservoir (tank or clearomizer)

These three parts will vary from setup to setup, but they’ll always be there in some form.  The clearomizer holds the e-liquid (see what e-liquid is made of here).  There is an atomizer usually at the base of the clearomizer that contains a wire coil wrapped around a wicking material.  The wicking material absorbs the e-liquid. The metal coil gets power from the attached battery, heats up, and vaporizes the liquid. There you have it!  Vaping is a super simple concept.  Ready for a little more detail?  Here we go…

    Batteries

Batteries come in a rainbow of designs, concepts, shapes, and colors.  Most likely, as beginners, you’ve seen the cigalike e-cigs.  Cigalikes are the thin units that most resemble an analog cigarette. These generally have a super short battery, poor vapor production, and poor flavor reproduction.

My recommendation is that you buy a single battery setup or a kit including an eGo style battery.  EGo refers to the thread type on the top of the battery unit.  You’ll face the choice of milliamp hours (mAh), which means capacity.  The higher the mAh, the longer your battery will last on a single charge, but that will also increase the size.  You’ll figure out rather quickly what size battery you’re comfortable carrying with you, and if it’s lasting long enough.  Many eGo batteries available are pass through batteries. That means you can charge while you vape, which drastically increases the daily battery life.

    Clearomizers and coils

Those beginning to vape at this point in the community’s development are getting the full benefit of the clearomizer and tank options available.  They’re simpler, easier, and more efficient than anything I had starting out a few years ago.

Basic top coil Basic top coil

Clearomizers generally come in two main varieties - top coil and bottom coil.  Both essentially function the same way.  Inside the housing, a coil of wire surrounds wicking material (most commonly silica rope or cotton).  When electricity is passed through the coil, it heats up and vaporizes the liquid absorbed by the wicking material.  The result: delicious vapor.  As the names suggest, we’re talking about the position of the coil in the tank.  A typical top coil atomizer has the coil high up on the center shaft and wicks hang down to soak up liquid.

Beginners bottom coil Basic bottom coil

Inside of a bottom coil Inside of a bottom coil

A bottom coil atomizer sits in the base of the tank and liquid is gravity fed into the wicks. Nowadays, there’s really no reason to use a top coil clearomizer.  They generally perform worse than bottom coil designs, and you’re constantly fighting gravity.  Gravity always wins.

Other things to consider are airflow and liquid capacity.  Most people don’t want to be constantly refilling, so they go for higher capacity tanks.  Others like the sleek form factor of smaller tanks and don’t mind refilling more frequently.  Plastic tanks are very common among beginning vapers and are typically a more cost effective option, but you sacrifice durability.  Longer lasting tank options are usually made from stainless steel and Pyrex.  There’s a wide variety to choose from, and with a little testing, you’ll find the one for you.

As with most electronics, there’s room to grow.  Most beginners start with a basic setup, and when they become more familiar with the technology, move up to gear that’s more advanced.  Now there are tanks that can handle many times more power than an eGo battery can output, and batteries that can output many times more power than the basic clearomizers can handle.  Everyone’s tastes are unique, and I can guarantee that there’s a battery/clearomizer setup that will fit the bill.

Blackhat Vapor's new home! Blackhat Vapor's new home!

Lastly, and maybe most important as beginners is having a support structure.  Check out your local vape shops.  Find one that seems to have the friendliest, most knowledgeable staff to help you stick with vaping.  (Low prices don’t hurt, either.)  Do you have friends that vape?  They can be an amazing resource.  Comparing e-liquids, batteries/setups, and the occasional loan makes vaping much more interesting and fun.  Of course, there are vaping communities online.  Forums, groups, blogs, and websites all offer a wealth of information to answer just about any question and guide you along.  Don’t hesitate to use any of these resources, and above all, keep vaping!

  • Rise of the Jacksonville Vaping Shop

The Rise of the Vapor Store in Jax

Only a year ago, you may have noticed new storefronts popping up in Jacksonville with names like "A-1 Vapor" or "Vapor 4 Life". From Blanding to the Beach, one thing they all had in common was a word - vapor. The e-cig industry changes fast, and in the past year the term "vape" has eclipsed the fledgling term "vapor" Even the Oxford Dictionary company named "vape" the 2014 word of the year! E-cig sales are set to hit $1.7 BILLION this year! So now we have the rise of the Jacksonville Vape Shop, but what exactly does that mean?

Cloud contest at a vape shop. width=

The rise of the Jacksonville vapor shop is many things. Earlier this year, we posted a blog about the e-cig community and how vaping has brought thousands of people together with a common cause. That community has become even closer in the face of potential action against it by the FDA. People have credited e-cigs with changing their lives (myself included) and now they band together in solidarity. Jacksonville Vape shops have become more than just brick and mortar purveyors of vaping gear. A lot like the long running TV show, Cheers, regular customers stop by their favorite vaping shop after work to pick up some of their favorite e-liquid, check out new gear, or just kick back and have a puff with the crew running the shop. Some vape shops have "Vape Meets" where fellow vapers gather to enjoy each others company, win prizes, or even participate in "Cloud Contests" to see who can chuck the biggest, thickest plume. The vape shops in Jacksonville, Florida still exist to make money, but now it's more than that - it's a meeting place for all things e-cigarette and the people that love them. So we know that vapor stores have evolved into vape shops, but how has the technology changed?

Electronic cigarettes have come a loooooong way since the humble days of the disposable 510. In the beginning choices were few and, in retrospect, unimpressive. Color options were limited to a futuristic matte black or tobacco cigarette white with (genuine simulated filter) tan. You could have a sort of tobacco flavored liquid and maybe some vaguely fruity tasting option. You chose between a button activated or automatic battery. Maybe you had the option of what color LED illuminated the end of your "artificial cigarette". That was about it.

    How far we've come.

Jacksonville Vape Shop Mods The selection of mechanical mods is growing every day at Blackhat!

Choices today are as plentiful as leaves on a mature oak tree and range from conventional to downright bizarre! Everything from variable voltage options, vibrant or subdued color finishes to mods and premium gourmet e-liquid is yours for experimentation. It is a good time to be a vaper, my friend! E-cigs have broken away from remotely attempting to resemble tobacco cigarettes. Many vapers have setups that reflect their personality and sense of style. If you can think of a color, there's a battery finish or clearomizer option to match. If you change your mind, there are even custom cut adhesive wraps to change your battery color or pattern. Once exotic and rare, LCD displays on batteries are now commonplace in vape shops, providing vital stats on battery life, voltage, and resistance. I've even seen a bluetooth mod complete with cell phone app! Conveniences like pass-through capability makes dead or dying batteries almost a thing of the past. Now you can charge while you vape!

Jacksonville Vape Shop E-liquid A creamy blend with a kiss of strawberry, Goat's Milk is delish!

Mods have exploded on the scene, appealing to the tinkerers to build and customize coils to exacting preferences and vaping experiences. With these high powered precision vapes, modders can reduce visibility in any room with a single puff. And the e-liquid varieties!! Hundreds of manufacturers have broken the mold, venturing away from the humdrum "blueberry" and "banana" conventions. Premium liquid manufacturers with the likes of "Cinnamon Roll" and "Strawberries and Cream" have pushed the envelope with creative custom recipes with names like "Skyline", "Butter Berry", and even Blackhat's own "Goats Milk".

Jacksonville vaping shops are racing to keep up with the best and newest offerings out there and we all get to benefit! Along with the tech, an ever growing population of vapers expands together bringing a sense of community and belonging to everyone involved. I'm sure you have your own go-to Jacksonville vapor store where everybody knows your name.

  • Rebuildable Coils for Beginners: Part 2

    Building Your Own Coil

Building your own coil seems like a daunting task at first - requiring the careful touch of a surgeon, with the knowledge of a mathematician. Well fear not! This is definitely not the case. Sure, rebuildable coils need time and a little bit of practice to master, but once you learn the basics you can become a rebuilding pro yourself. From drippers to rebuildable tanks, rebuildable coils are all based on the same core concepts. If you like working with your hands, and don't mind putting some time into a new hobby, you will love building your own coils. Rebuildable atomizers (RBAs) allow you to get more flavor, vapor, and satisfaction from your vaping experience. Impress your friends, get that attractive coworker to finally notice you, or perhaps just scare some people! With Rebuildable coil setups, you can do it all.

The IPV2 variable wattage mod adjustable to 50 watts! The IPV 2 in stores now and online soon!

Now at first it can be a little difficult, and your first few coils may not be the best, but that's all a part of practice. There are a few rules to follow so as to not injure yourself and get the best working rebuildable coil you can. There are two power source types that are best for rebuildable coil setups: Mechanical mods and high wattage box mods. I would stay away from using regular batteries, such as a normal ego style battery or even an MVP variable battery for example. Those batteries don't have the power level you will need, and you risk the chance of shorting out the battery and ruining it. Mechanical mods are exactly that - mechanical. The only electronics involved are the 18mm batteries you put in them. They function by completing the battery circuit, causing the power to flow to your RBA. In most mechanical mods they allow you to shorten the device to accommodate a shorter battery such as a 18350. Most will accept an 18350, 18500, or 18650. To get the most life and power it is best to get an 18650, running at at least 30 amps.

High drain batteries for rebuildable coil setups 18650, 18500, and 18350 batteries.

I'm sure most of you reading this may have heard of ohms at some point in your life. Your ohm level indicates what resistance your rebuildable coil is running at. The lower the resistance, the more power will flow through the coil. With mechanical mods your resistance level usually should be below 1 ohm, which is called sub-ohming. You will get better performance because the battery in your mod will be ale to produce more power with less resistance. Beware of going too low, if your resistance gets below .1 ohms you may risk battery venting or overheating, due to the battery itself not being able to keep up with the resistance. This is fairly dangerous, as most experienced builders and I will tell you. For safety purposes it's best to stick above .2 ohms for your mechanical. Going below that usually requires a more powerful mechanical mod, using a 26650 battery. But stick above that level and you will still get the results you want without risking the health of your hands and mouth.

The next best bet for rebuildable coil setups is high wattage mods. Most will come in the form of a box, called box mods. Pretty creative, eh? Alot of box mods will be variable, which means you can control the amount of power it is putting out. This is great for rebuilding, because you have more leeway with how you build your coils. I find I like high ohm builds, which is pretty much anything above 1 ohm. Using a DNA 30 or an IPV 2 50 watt box mod will give you the best result with this, and you can get great flavor and vapor production out of it. The reason higher ohm builds work so well with these mods is because instead of the resistance controlling power production, the mod itself controls it. There are many box mods out there, and with a little practice you can even make your own, but that's a lesson for another time.

Rebuildable coil ohm reader An ohm reader is key to a good build

You're almost ready for rebuilding! Feel free to watch the video above to get an in depth look into how the coil is actually built, and how it performs. Make sure to do your research, as the online vaping world has lots of information and forums dedicated to the rebuildable realm. It's definitely the way to go if you're looking to improve and revamp your vaping experience, and it can be a lot of fun. Remember always follow the law of ohms, because if it seems like it could cause a problem, it probably will. Keep up with our blog for more information on rebuildable coils and other tips and tricks!

    Happy vaping!

  • Which Starter Kit is Legit?

    The Skinny on Starter Kits

So, you're looking to get in to e-cigs and vaping, but where do you start? Well, the simplest answer is to buy a starter kit! Right now there are about as many options with buying a starter kit as there are options with buying a can of soda. What size do I want, what flavor, what color, what style - the choices are seemingly endless! We'll help you narrow down the hundreds of choices regarding starter kits, and get you on your way to the world of vaping.

    Types of Starter Kits

Generally speaking, you'll find a few different types of starter kits out there. We'll cover the non-disposable types, the only ones worth spending money on:

    • 510 Style Kits
    • Ego style kits
    • Mod Kits

Whatever kit you decide to buy needs to have the same essential items included:

    • At least one battery (many kits come with two)
    • Clearomizers or Cartomizers for each battery (they hold the liquid)
    • A case or container to hold everything
    • A charging cable
    • E-liquid

    The 510 Kit
Odds are, you've been seeing these starter kits around for awhile. They're usually the ones you'll see at gas stations (although many of the one for sale are of the disposable variety), and they're featured in commercials and tv shows.

    The 510 e-cigarette. The 510 e-cigarette.

The 510 e-cigs look like a robotic cigarette - about the same dimensions as a regular cigarette, and the tip usually glows red (to simulate a real cigarette burning) or blue (for the cyberpunk look). These starter kits are generally the ones to avoid. They're on their way out. 510 starter kits are usually overpriced, the batteries don't last very long, they don't produce much vapor, and most people agree that the flavor reproduction is terrible. I was actually given a 510 starter kit a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

It sat in my dresser drawer for a year.

It was a pain to keep reloading (the cartridge barely held any liquid), it constantly tasted funny, and it was constantly running out of power. Sure, it's small and fits in most any pocket of any piece of clothing, but it's just a terrible unit. By all means, try whatever you think will work for you, but my vote is no.

    Ego Starter Kits
The "Ego" in Ego starter kit doesn't refer to a part of your identity. It's just the type of battery connection to the tank. The Ego starter kits are by and large the most popular types of starter kits out there today. These kits offer batteries that hold up to more wear and tear, last longer, and offer a smoother vaping experience. Ego starter kits

The simplest starter kit around The Blackhat Starter Kit

also usually include tanks that hold more liquid and perform much better than their 510 counterparts. Also, most kits worth buying will feature affordable replacement parts. One thing to look out for is kits that include extra cores for the clearomizers (tanks). A quality kit will stock you up with the items and accessories you need to keep you going for awhile. If you want to get really fancy, there are options like passthrough charging and variable voltage. Passthrough means you can charge the battery while you're vaping (usually with an included USB cable). Variable voltage batteries have a control unit built in (buttons or a dial) that let you control how much or little power the battery puts out.

    Mod Starter Kits
Mod starter kits are the rarest of the three we've talked about. A mod is just a modified battery or battery holder. Most mod users are vapers who've been in the vaping game awhile. There's a lot of variety with these as well. Some offer voltage control, while others are mostly for collectors into finding something really neat looking. Usually you won't find a mod included in a starter kit, but every now and then you'll come across something special like the Blackhat Swag Bag Giveaways!

So, we've covered types of starter kits. What else do you want to look for in a starter kit? Well I'm glad you asked!

    Aesthetics

One of the great things about getting into the e-cig community right now is the OPTIONS! You don't wear the same shoes to work as you would a night on the town, right? Your e-cig can be the same way! There's a color to match every personality. Adhesive wraps also make a splash. You can pick your favorite football team colors to match your battery and tank combo, or go with something that brings our your eyes. It's all choices that make you love your kit and love using your e-cig!

    Durability

If it feels flimsy, it is flimsy. You want to pick a unit that has a good solid feel to it. Let's face it - you're going to drop this thing. It's going to take a few falls here and there during its service to you. It'll ride in pockets and purses, backpacks and bags. You want something that's going to last! Also, don't forget to check on warranty and servicing. If tragedy were to befall your new investment, you want to have confidence that you can get the help you need from a friendly and knowledgeable vendor.

    Price

Last but not least, show me the money! Everyone likes to get a great deal, and nobody likes to get hustled. Do your homework! Check out prices online. Read reviews. Do you have friends who vape? Ask them how they like their gear and where they got it and how the service is at the shop. Everyone has an opinion on e-cigs and a lot of them count. Lots of places unnecessarily jack up the prices on their merchandise, so shop around to find the place with the best price and the best staff to show you the ropes.

  • Rebuildable Coils for Beginners: Part 1

Rebuildable coils: Micro, nano, sub... single, dual, twisted... what does it all mean?!?

Coil building is a labor of love for some. Knowing what you want out of the build and having the right tools is a good place to start. Want bigger plumes of vapor? Want more flavor? Want a hotter or cooler vape? There is a build for just about every want these days.

Every electronic cigarette creates vapor using the same basic method: A coil of resistance wire is wrapped around a wicking material. The wicking material (usually cotton or silica) sucks up the e-liquid (much in the same way a candle wick sucks up melted wax) and electricity is passed through the resistance wire coil. The coil heats up, heats the e-liquid, and you have delicious vapor!

Just a beautiful Rebuildable Coil A single parallel rebuildable coil.

Coils are as diverse and differentiating as there are types of car engines. Your average commuter might drive a conservative 4 cylinder, while muscle car fans might like the punch of a big block V8! The same idea applies to coils. Most vapers buy pre-made coils from their favorite vape shop or website. Then there are the advanced users - the modders, the hobbyists. These guys use rebuildable coils. RBA's (Rebuildable Atomizers), RTA's (Rebuildable Tank Atomizers), and RDA's (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizers) require the user to physically wrap the resistance wire into coils.

Now why would anyone want to go through that amount of trouble? The answer is simple: CUSTOMIZATION! When you build your own coil, you're in direct control of how hot or cold your atomizer burns. The results can range from super hot rebuildable coils that can produce enough vapor to haze out a living room, to cooler rebuildable coils that let you embrace every facet of flavor from your favorite e-liquid.

Rebuildable Coils: Beauty in the basics A dual rebuildable coil

Most rebuildable coils and atomizers they're housed in require using a mod style battery setup. Essentially a mod is a modified battery housing to be used with a high capacity, high output battery. Heating up these monster rebuildable coils needs a beefed up battery setup! We all have to remember the wise words of Peter Parker's Uncle Ben: "With great power comes great responsibility." Rebuildable Coils require that you take care while you tinker. Remember you're dealing with electricity and really hot metal!! Ok, moving on:

Customization! (Remember that from earlier?) So you've moved up to wanting to make your own rebuildable coils. Which coil do you create? That's a good question, and there's more answers than you can imagine. Most advanced vapers start out with a simple single coil.

Twisted Vaper Rebuildable Coil A single coil using two pieces of wire. The result: half the resistance!

One coil of resistance wire, one strand of wicking material. It's simple, effective, and does the trick. Then there's the vapers I call "The Gamblers" - they like to double down and build dual coils! Two coils - twice the firepower - half the resistance. That means a hotter burn and more vapor. It just goes on from there. I've seen quad coils (four rebuildable coils and monster clouds), dragon coils, Danny wicks, twisted/braided wire; the list is endless! There are many options for wire and wick. Both have a huge impact on the vapor production and flavor as well. Everyone has a preference to what they like and what works the best. Odds are, once you jump into the world of modding and rebuildable coils, you'll come up with your own unique way to design your own rebuildable coil.

Stick around for our post on exactly HOW to create your own rebuildable coil and reach a whole new level of vaping!

  • The Anyvape Peakomizer is here and it's amazing!

The Anyvape Peakomizer has landed at Blackhat!

The name says it all. The Peakomizer truly is the peak of bottom coil technology. With the ability to use not only most BDC’s (bottom dual coils), but also a wide range of single coils including the Smok tech and Kanger tech coils. This clearomizer is truly revolutionary!

Peakomizer adjustable airflow and uses multiple cores! The Anyvape Peakomizer

In my personal use of the Peakomizer, I have found every feature it has to be both effective and user friendly. The turn based adjustable air flow function spans 4 different levels, and there is a 5th level used primarily for filling to prevent leaks. For those of you who are fans of the old top filling clearomizers, it is designed for top filing. I have used both kanger and smok tech bottom single coils, and the aspire and kanger tech dual coils. This ability is due to the fact that the center tubing is held in place with a spring that allows it to adjust to almost any coil height with no leaking.

The pieces to a perfect Peakomizer! A broken down version of the Anyvape Peakmomizer.

The pyrex glass in the Peakomizer is still the same size as the pyrex glass as used in the Anyvape Davide. So for those of you that have any Davide glass lying around never fear! Your glass is still good for use. Those who like to customize your vapes will be happy to hear that the Peakomizers drip tip is replaceable. We have a variety colored pyrex glass pieces for it also. The 510 connection will fit into most batteries/mods, and for my fellow Itaste VTR owners it fits rather nicely in the side 510 connection. I have longed for some time now for a proper pyrex adjustable air flow clearomizer, and I must say the Peakomizer has certainly exceeded my expectations.

So many cores are Peakomizer compatible! These are all Peakomizer Friendly

As someone who owns a Aspire Nautilus, I find the Peakomizer to be the superior all day vape. The air flow ranges from a little less than standard pull rate, to a full lung hitter if that’s what you look for in your clearomizer. It has much to offer any vaper, and you won’t be restricted to using just one type of coil. So go ahead and get yours today! I assure you it will leave you speechless.
